Bodh Gaya is situated in the Gaya district of Mahabodhi temple Complex in Bihar behind the banks of Nairanjana river. Bodh Gaya is an important place for Buddhists as it is the place for four famous pilgrimages ( Kushinagar, Sarnath & Lumbini). King Ashoka build this temple. This place is one of the sacred place for Buddhists.
Inside this temple there is an image of Buddha in a sitting position and touching the earth by his right hand. There are large number of stupas inside this temple. It is a place where Gautama Buddha attained enlightenment. Bodh Gaya was the place for pilgrimage as it is the place where Lord Buddha achieved enlightment. Buddha got his mediation under the Bodhi tree where he meditated without moving from his seat.

How to reach Bodhgaya By train
Around 16 km away there is a railway station named gaya. From there please take a bus or auto or taxi to Bodh Gaya.
